This transformation—the result of a catastrophic exposure to unstable Holy Item radiation during a botched mission early in his career—left him forever changed, forever marked as less than whole. Despite his condition, or perhaps because of it, Captain Ash has clawed his way to a position of minor authority within The Order, though he remains trapped in the lower officer ranks—a fact that gnaws at him with every passing day. His ambition burns as hot as the volcanic energies coursing through his transformed flesh.
