Shonen Kartia (The Singularity)
Summary
Known as the Singularity, Shonen Kartia is the immortal leader of The Order. He flies among the stars to think and borrows another man's blade to avoid making a scene, yet all his power has failed to give him what he wants: a way to die.

Shonen, on heroes
“Come to reclaim your heroic father’s honour.
Yeah, what is a hero but a media-crowned killer?
A self-righteous fool, staring down their nose at the weak from a mountain of corpses.”
— Shonen Kartia
Start Book One →Description
Shonen comes down from the night sky with a shock wave and the air of a man returning from a walk. He says he takes flight to be alone with the stars. The weariness is real; so is the gulf between his power and everyone standing on the rooftop with him.
An assassin's enchanted dagger gives him occasion for a conversation about good, evil and the stories people tell themselves. When he decides to end it, he borrows the Head Captain's katana: his own weapon would make a scene. Raised by The Church and changed by his imprisonment in Jedia's timeless void, the Singularity now leads The Order while pursuing a release his immense strength cannot simply force into being.
