Description

Cliff Henderson introduces himself after the street has already been torn apart. Goaden turns down his money; Ashai hears a man who recognises her mother's name. Cliff keeps talking, offering training and technology while an enormous black feline emerges at his side. Recruitment, with him, is a matter of understanding what each person wants badly enough to stay.

Inside the Armoured-dillo, he knows where to find the gamers, which captain will refuse to answer, and how much cheek he is prepared to tolerate. His concern for young agents is real, but so are his calculations. A mission brief can move from missing cult members to the Grimoire with uncomfortable speed. Working for the General means learning where his warmth ends and his duty takes over.
