The person behind the world

People found this world
before it had a book.

I’m Silent Silver. I write The Secrets of Silver Clouds, and I’m building a fantasy universe rooted in British streets, music and the visual energy of anime.

01 / Before the book

First, there was a world.

I started sharing Silver Clouds while I was homeless. At first, it was characters, rough designs and places from the world I was building. I put them on TikTok and Instagram, and people began turning up to watch it take shape.

Then they started asking for the book.

So I finished it. The people who had followed those early ideas helped me crowdfund the first release.

02 / The first lines

Before you could read them,
I was drawing them.

Goaden. Chill. Two of my early digital drawings, from when I was finding the faces of Silver Clouds.

03 / The readers

Someone saw what I was trying to build.

I sent the book to a BookTok reviewer without really expecting her to read it. When she told me her review was up, I set up a camera to record my reaction.

I expected a mixture of praise and criticism. Instead, I watched someone connect with this world far more deeply than I had imagined.

An early reader’s reaction

“This book made me laugh, cry, scream”

She printed it out. Then started tabbing.

The book was still in beta when this reader recorded her first-ever book review. She had printed a copy so she could mark the moments she loved.

04 / What comes next

A world with room to grow.

My ambition is to build a major British fantasy universe: anime-influenced, rooted in our streets and music, dark, funny and unafraid of its own rough edges.

Books, games, comics, animation—different ways into a world with enough life to hold them. I call that approach Animantasy.

The book, illustrated episode, Codex and browser experiences are already doors into it. An action RPG with Xtended Realities is in development. The audience that helped bring the first book into existence is still part of what comes next.
