Stormcleaver

Summary

Stormcleaver is Lad's Holy Item, a battleaxe that channels thunder, lightning and fierce winds. Its power also has a gentler purpose: the storm can become healing rain, restoring wounded allies instead of sweeping an enemy from the field.

Description

Stormcleaver puts the weather within reach of Lad’s hands. Its star-metal head crackles above a haft of Yggdrasil wood; a swing can carry thunder, lightning or a gale strong enough to sweep enemies away. In a tense meeting, merely reaching towards it says plenty.

The axe can also turn the storm towards a gentler purpose. Lad can turn its power into healing rain, restoring the people who stand beside him. The same storm that makes this weapon feared is also capable of bringing a battered fighting force back to its feet.

Background

Stormcleaver embodies the tempest's raw power. Its haft—carved from resilient wood of Yggdrasil, the World Tree—grants unparalleled durability. The double-bladed head, fashioned from star-metal fallen from the heavens, hums with barely contained energy, crackling with lightning that dances along razor-sharp edges. When wielded by Lad, true descendant of the Viking warriors of Ragnorir, Stormcleaver's potential fully awakens. Each mighty swing summons the storm's fury—shockwaves of thunder reverberating through the air, searing arcs of lightning smiting foes. The axe grants Lad command over tempest elements: howling gales sweep enemies off their feet, walls of swirling wind deflect incoming attacks, and he can even ride upon lightning to traverse battlefields in a flash.
