Isolde Thorne
Summary
An alchemist and witch trained by Kartel Hammond, Isolde Thorne advises MI6 on a magical world its officers do not always understand. Asked to take greater responsibility, she has little patience for the idea that expertise belongs behind a bureaucrat's desk.
Description
Asked to consider responsibility for MI6, Isolde's first response is to point out that she is an alchemist, not a bureaucrat. She trained under Kartel Hammond and knows exactly how much she still respects her teacher. Cliff sees another qualification: she understands both the magical world and the people who must live alongside it.
The Philosopher's Stone has left her looking much younger than her years. The alchemical markings at her neck are easier to read than the life behind them. Her expertise crosses into witchcraft, making her a sought-after consultant to MI6, The Order and even the Yakuza-Triads. At MI6, she meets doubts about her unconventional background with a steady gaze, careful terms and the willingness to take responsibility for her decisions.
