Description

The Merging made another realm something you could come from, rather than merely imagine. Beings from the Fairy Realm, the Demon Realm and elsewhere crossed into the human world, bringing knowledge that changed what its people could build.

The exchange went both ways. Human science gave magical craftspeople unfamiliar tools; arcane knowledge gave engineers unfamiliar possibilities. Vehicles that fold into bookmarks and phones that project a caller into the air belong to this shared world, along with all the uneasy work of learning to live in it together.

Background

The Merging opened boundaries between dimensions following the Celestial Shattering. Ethereal realms bled into the mortal world, allowing spirits, demons, and celestial beings to cross freely. Cities began to pulse with strange energy, where technology and magic coexisted uneasily. Ancient forests awakened, rivers whispered prayers, and sky-borne citadels shimmered in the distance. Though many feared it, the Merging also enabled humanity's ascent into the technomagical age. It remains the foundation for the modern era — a time when no barrier between the divine and the mundane remains absolute.
